Babalao Stereo Club

“There ‘aint no party like a Babalao party…”

With their high energy, Latin infused rhythms, Babalao Stereo Club are quickly making a name for themselves on Toronto’s Latin-Funk scene. With stand out tracks like “Ay Catira” and “Sacudete”, BSC are on the rise and destined to make it the top of the music charts and beyond.

After recording their first demo, BSC released their debut album titled "The Latin Bang Theory" in September 2011. With an abundance of skill and talent, BSC is constantly creating hot new tracks.

Babalao Stereo Club features five innovative and highly skilled musicians. Guitarist Manuel Rivas, bassist Jaime Sanchez and pianist Adam Silver produce Babalao’s heart thumping grooves and rump shaking moves. Their unique style and collaborations are supported by the tight fills of drummer Luis Bertolotti and Samba Squad’s co-director and front man, percussionist David Figliano. These two drumming virtuosos never fail to get the crowd pumped and energized with their tight, funky grooves. It’s an experience that needs to be seen to be believed!

This year has been a wild ride and BSC’s schedule is not subsiding.  After playing gigs at The Central, Lula Lounge, and opening for Latin Grammy Winner Alex Cuba at The Burlington Sound of Music Festival, this dirty ‘n’ funky five piece is gearing up for a busy, fun filled year.

With influences such as Los Amigos Invisibles, Carlos Santana and Los Tetas, BSC always gets the crowd moving and grooving with their fusion of Latin based rhythms with North American Funk.  Be on the look out and stay tuned for the invigorating sounds of Babalao Stereo Club.

“There ‘aint no party like a Babalao party, ‘cause the Babalao party don’t stop!”
